Assam Special TET 2023 Exam Eligibility Criteria
For eligibility, candidates are required to fulfill the following requirements: they must be permanent residents of any of the 6th Schedule area districts, which include Baksa, Chirang, Dima-Hasao, Kokrajhar, Karbi-Anglong, West Karbi-Anglong, and Udalguri. In addition, the educational qualifications required for the Lower Primary and Upper Primary Assam TET exam are specified as follows.
Educational Qualification Requirement : Lower Primary TET (Classes I to V)
To be eligible for the Assam TET exam, candidates must meet any of the following educational qualifications:
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (known by any name)
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed)
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Education (Special Education)
- Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (known by any name)
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) obtained from any NCTE recognized institution are eligible for appointment as a teacher in class I to V. However, such a person must undergo a six-month Bridge Course in Elementary Education recognized by the NCTE within two years of appointment as a primary teacher.
Additionally, candidates who are pursuing a teacher education course recognized by the NCTE or the RCI and have an Admit Card for the final year examination may also apply for the TET. However, they can apply for appointment only after obtaining all the required qualifications.
Educational Qualification Requirement : Upper Primary TET (Classes VI to VIII)
Candidates who wish to appear for the TET exam must fulfill one of the following eligibility criteria:
- Graduation and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (known by any name)
- At least 50% marks in Graduation or Post Graduation and a B.Ed. degree
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed).
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% marks and a 4-year B.A./B.Sc. Ed. or B.A. Ed/B.Sc. Ed.
- Graduation with at least 50% marks and a 1-year B.Ed. (Special Education)
Please note that the minimum percentage of marks in graduation will not be applicable to those who have already taken admission to the Bachelor of Education or Bachelor of Elementary Education or equivalent course prior to July 29, 2011.
Additionally, a candidate who is currently pursuing a teacher education course recognized by the NCTE or the RCI and holds an Admit Card for the final year examination as specified in the NCTE Guideline dated 11th February, 2011, may also apply for TET. However, such candidates can only apply for appointment as a teacher after acquiring all the necessary qualifications.
