The Best Parliamentarian Award is one of the most prestigious awards in India. Each year, the award is presented to honour an individual for their excellent contribution to the field of Indian politics.
This year, the award was presented to the most deserving person in the 2023 Indian parliament. During the event, All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen leader Asaduddin Owaisi was presented with the greatest parliamentarian of the year award. The fourth edition of the Lokmat Parliamentary Awards was presented in New Delhi. Ex-President of India Ram Nath Kovind was honoured to attend the ceremony as the chief guest.
Asaduddin Owaisi, President of AIMIM and MP of Hyderabad, is presented with the Lokmat Parliamentary Award for being an Outstanding Parliamentarian of the Year. Owaisi expressed joy in receiving the recognition and noted the need to protect the freedom of everyone.
This is not the first occasion that Owaisi has been bestowed with the award. He was granted the same recognition in 2013, 2014, 2019, and 2022.
Asaduddin Owaisi is frequently featured in news stories due to his outspoken remarks, which are usually directed against the ruling party in power. Currently, there is a BJP government in India, and Asaduddin Owaisi has been vocal in his criticism of their policies.

Asaduddin Owaisi: A brief introduction
Asaduddin Owaisi was born on May 13th, 1969, in Hyderabad and completed his schooling there. He is a barrister by profession and the National President of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen.
Asaduddin Owaisi was initially elected as a Member of Parliament from the Hyderabad Lok Sabha seat in 2004, followed by victories in 2009 and 2014 in the general elections from the same constituency.

The Lokmat Parliamentary Awards were created in 2017 to honour the achievements of Indian Parliamentarians in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha every year.
