EPFO SSA Syllabus PDF: Exam pattern

The EPFO SSA exam is divided into three stages. The first stage is the Prelims test, which consists of Objective type questions. The second stage is the Mains Exam, which includes both the objective and descriptive tests, and the third stage is the Skill Test. The marks obtained in all three stages will be used to determine a candidate’s final selection.

EPFO SSA Skill Test

Candidates who pass the main examination will be invited to a skill test. The authorities assess the candidate’s accuracy and speed for data entry work. The minimum requirement is 5000 key depressions per hour. Because the Phase III examination is only qualifying, marks obtained in the skill test will not be considered for the merit list.

EPFO SSA Syllabus PDF: Key points

• For incorrect answers, a quarter-point deduction will be applied. For example, if a question is worth 2 points, 0.5 points are deducted. If the question is worth 1 point, 0.25 points will be deducted.
• On the basis of their performance in the preliminary examination, candidates will be shortlisted for the main examination in a ratio of 1:10, i.e. approximately 10 times the number of vacancies in each category.
• On the basis of their performance in the Mains examination, candidates will be shortlisted for the skill test in the ratio of 1:5, approximately 5 times the number of vacancies in each category.
• Reasoning, General Awareness, English, and Quantitative Aptitude are all objective tests.
• The descriptive paper will be entirely online, with the questions displayed on the screen and the candidates typing their answers using a keyboard. The descriptive paper will be administered online immediately following the completion of the Phase-II Main Examination online objective test.
