Scout And Guide Uniform KVS: In Details

Scout Uniform

(I)SHIRT 

A steel Grey shirt with two patch pockets with shoulder straps with Half or rolled-up sleeves. Sleeves may be turned down in cold weather.

(II)SHORTS OR TROUSERS 

Navy blue shorts or trousers shall be worn. Trousers shall neither be loose or tight fitting and shall have two side pockets and one back pocket. But at the time of the Rashtrapati, Scout Testing camp and Rashtsapati Award Rally-Trousers are compulsory.

(III)HEAD-DRESS 

A dark blue beret cap with the official cap badge supplied by the National Association.

A Sikh may wear a blue turban with the official cap badge Head Dress is compulsory during ceremonies.

(IV)BELT

Grey Nylex belt with official Bharat Scouts & Guides buckles issued by the National Association.

(V)SCARF 

A triangular scarf in the Group color, other than green, purple, or yellow, with a pattern approved by the Local or District Association, as the case may be, and shoulder straps with the Group woggle, other than Gilwell woggle. Each of the two sides of the scarf must be at least 70 cm long and no more than 80cm long.

(VI)SHOULDER BADGE 

A shoulder badge measuring 6 to 8 cm x 1.5 cm with a white background and a red border, as well as the group’s serial number and name in red letters, should be worn on both shoulders just below the seam with a little bend. Members of the Group consisting of Sea Scouts or Air Scouts should not include on their shoulder badge the words “Sea Scout” or “Air Scout” in red issued by the National Association shall be worn on both sides of the shoulder straps.

(VII)SHOULDER STRIPES 

Two Shoulder stripes indicative of the color and name of the patrol as shown in Scouting for Boys, each 5 cm long and 1.5 cm wide stitched horizontally, each 2 cm apart on a square shape of steel gray cloth. This patch shall be worn at the top of the left sleeve immediately below the Shoulder Badge. Note: Shoulder stripes shall be worn below the Ambulance man badge if there is an Ambulance man badge.

(VIII)MEMBERSHIP BADGE

A Cloth badge with green background and Fluer-de-lis in yellow superimposed by the Trefoil with Ashoka Chakra also in yellow in the center shall be worn in the center of the pleat of the left pocket of the shirt.

(IX) WORLD SCOUT BADGE

World Scout Badge should be worn in the center of the pleat of the right pocket of the shirt.

(X)THE BSG STRIPE

The name stripe containing “The Bharat Scouts & Guides” supplied by National Headquarters may be worn just above the right pocket of the shirt. The size of the stripe should be 11 cm x2 cm, the right corner of which should be the tricolor of the National Flag of the size of 2 cm x 3cm and the rest for the Title of The Bharat Scout & Guides.

(XI) SOCKS OR STOCKINGS

Black socks or stockings may be worn; stockings should be rolled down to the knees with 1.5cm green garter tabs visible outside Stockings will be worn with shorts only.

(XII) FOOTWEAR

Black shoes (leather or canvas) with laces are permitted.

Guide Uniform

(I)AN OVERALL

Deep sky blue overall made of plain nontransparent material with two top patch pockets and two side pockets from the underside, half sleeves 8 cm above the elbow with turned up and stitched down cuffs 4 cm wide, and open sports collar with epaulets on both shoulders. The overall shall not be tight-fitted.

(II)SALWAR, KAMEEZ, and DUPATTA(FOR GIRLS)

A deep sky blue Salwar and Light blue Kameez of plain non-transparent material. The length of the Kameez shall be up to the knees. The Kameez shall have two patch pockets and two side pockets, half sleeves 8 cm. above the elbow with turned up and stitched down cuffs. 4 cm. wide, open sports collar with epaulets on both shoulders. The Salwar and Kameez shall not be tight-fitted. The Dupatta shall be deep sky-blue in color and made of plain non-transparent material.

(III)MIDI SKIRT AND BLOUSE(FOR GIRLS)

Midi in deep sky-blue made of plain non-transparent material with side pockets and a slit at the back. The length of the skirt will be up to the half distance between the knee and ankle. A white blouse of plain non-transparent material with two patch pockets half sleeves 8 cm. above the elbow with turned up and stitched down cuffs 4 cm. wide, open sports collar with epaulets on both shoulders. The length of the blouse shall be 8 cm. below the waistline. The skirt and blouse shall not be tight-fitted.

(IV)BELT

Brown Nylex belt with the official Brass buckle of the Bharat Scouts & Guides supplied by the National Association.

(V)SCARF

A scarf of the group color and pattern other than green, purple, and yellow as approved by the Local or District Association shall be worn around the neck and over the collar and epaulets with the group woggle. The shape of the scarf shall be triangular with a base and two sides, each of the two sides shall have a minimum length of 70 cm. and a maximum of 80 cm.

(VI)SOCKS

 White Colour.

(VII)FOOTWEAR 

Black leather or Black canvas closed shoe stripe with buckle.

(VIII)HAIR RIBBON(FOR GIRLS)

Black plain ribbon or black plain hair band (without any design only for short hair).

(IX)MEMBERSHIP BADGE

A cloth badge with a green background, with Fleur-de-lis in yellow Superimposed by the Trefoil with Ashoka Chakra also in yellow in the center, shall be worn in the middle of the left sleeve.

(X)SHOULDER BADGE

 A shoulder badge 6 to 8 cm. in length and 1.5 cm. in width with white background and red border, the serial number, (optional), and the name of the Group/District/State in red letters shall be worn on both shoulders just below the seam with a little curve.

(XI)WORLD GUIDE BADGE

World Guide Badge shall be worn in the middle of the right sleeve.

(XII)PATROL EMBLEM

 Every Guide shall wear a Patrol emblem, it shall be embroidered on black background with a green border, 4 cm. in diameter. It shall be worn in the center of the top of the sash. The Name Stripe containing “The Bharat Scouts & Guides” supplied by National Headquarters may be worn above the right pocket on the blouse or kameez. The size of the stripe should be 11 cm. x 2 cm. the right corner of which would be a tri-color of the National Flag of the size of 3cm. x 2 cm. and rest for the Title “The Bharat Scouts & Guides”

(XIII)CARDIGAN

When worn it shall be black without any design. Sleeveless according to the season allowed.

(XIV)SASH

Deep sky blue Sash with 10 cm. width should be worn on the left shoulder across the chest so, that the lower end of the sash will come up to just below the hip level on the right side with Proficiency Badges earned in accordance with the girls’ program in the ascending order.

KVS Scout And Guide Uniform: Uniform For Scoutmaster And Assistant Scoutmaster 

  • A steel Grey shirt with two patch pockets, shoulder straps, and a half or rolled-up sleeves. Sleeves may be turned down in cold weather
  • Navy blue shorts or trousers shall be worn.
  • A dark blue beret cap with the official cap badge supplied by the National Association. The headdress is compulsory during ceremonies. A Sikh may wear a blue turban with the official cap badge.
  • Grey Nylex belt with an official buckle of the Bharat Scouts and Guides supplied by the National Association.
  • A Triangular scarf of the group color other than yellow, green, and purple and a pattern approved by the Local or District Association, as the case may be, shall be worn around the neck over the collar and shoulder straps with the group Woggle, other than Gilwell Woggle. Each of the two sides of the Scarf shall have a minimum length of 70 cm. or a Maximum of 90 cm.
  • A shoulder Badge of 6 to 8 cm. Length and 1.5 cm. width with white background and red border; the serial number (optional) name of the group/ District/ State in red letters shall be worm on both shoulders immediately below the seam with a little curve.
  • Members of the Group, which consists of Sea Scouts or Air Scouts, shall not include on their shoulder badge the words “Sea Scout” or “Air Scout”; instead. A white slip with the Words “Sea Scout” or Air Scout” in red, supplied by the National Association, Shall be worn on shoulder straps on both sides.
  • A cloth badge with green background with Fleur-de-lis in yellow superimposed by the Trefoil with Ashoka Chakra also in yellow in the center shall be worn in the center of the crease of the left pocket of the shirt
  • World Scout Badge: World Scout Badge should be a worm in the center of the crease of the right pocket of the shirt.
  • Scout Master shall wear a cloth rank badge of the Bharat Scouts and Guides Emblem of green color with a green border with Fleur -de – Lis Trefoil and Ashoka Chakra in yellow, and Assistant Scoutmaster shall wear a cloth rank badge of the Bharat Scouts and Guides Emblem of green color with red border with Fleur-de-lis, Trefoil and Ashoka Chakra in yellow. The badge shall be worn with its base 4 cm. above the left pocket.
  • The name stripe containing “The Bharat Scout and Guides” supplied by National Headquarters may be worn on just the nameplate above the right pocket of the shirt. The stripe size should be 11cm x 2cm, the right corner of which should be the tricolor of the National Flag of the length of 3cm x 2cm and the rest for the Title of “The Bharat Scouts and Guides. Approved by the National Council in its meeting held on 29/11/15
  • A white plastic nameplate of 8 cm length X 2 cm width inscribing the name of Adult Leader in black shall be worn above the right pocket of the shirt just below the BSG strip.

Socks or Stockings: Black Socks or Stockings may be worn. Stockings should be rolled below the knees with green garter tabs 1.5cm visible from the outside. socks will be worn with shorts only.

  • Footwear: Black shoes (leather or canvas) with laces to be worn.
  • Overcoat, Mackintosh, or Jacket: A navy blue overcoat, a navy blue blazer, a navy blue windcheater, or a navy blue jersey may be worn during the winter season only.
  • In mufti, a metal badge of the Bharat Scouts and Guides may be worn.
  • Grey Lanyard is worn around the neck with a whistle tucked in the shirt’s left pocket.
  • A Haversack or Rucksack may be carried during outdoor activities.

KVS Scout And Guide Uniform: Uniform for Guide Captain and Assistant Guide Captain and Guides

The Guide Captain and the Assistant Guide Captain Shall wear uniforms as follows:

  • A white Salwar and white Kameez of plain non-transparent material. The length of the Kameez shall be up to the knees. The Kameez shall have two patch pockets, two side pockets, and half sleeves 8cm. Above the elbow, turned up and stitched down cuffs 4 cm. wide open sports collar with epaulets on both shoulders. The Salwar and Kameez shall not be tight-fitted. The Dupatta shall be deep sky blue, made in plain, non-transparent material.
  • Midi Skirt in deep sky blue color made of non-transparent material with side pockets and a slit at the back. The length of the skirt will be up to half the distance between the knee and ankle. A white blouse of plain non-transparent material with two patch pockets, half sleeves 8cm above the elbow with turned up and stitched down cuffs 4 cm wide, open sports collar with epaulets on both shoulders. The length of the blouse shall be 8 cm. below the waistline. The blouse shall not be tight-fitted.
  • Deep sky blue Saree made of plain non-transparent material and a white blouse of basic non-transparent material with two patch pockets, half sleeves 8cm. Above the elbow with turned up and stitched down cuffs. 4cm. Wide open sports collar with epaulets on both shoulders. The blouse shall not be tight-fitted. The length of the blouse shall be 8cm below the waistline.
  • Brown Nylex belt with the official brass buckle of the BS&G. supplied by the National

Association.

  • A triangular scarf of the group color other than yellow, green, and purple and pattern approved by the Local or District Association, as the case may be, shall be worn around the neck over the collar and epaulets with the group woggle. Each of the two sides of the scarf shall have a minimum length of 70 cm or a maximum of 80 cm.
  • Socks: Camel color.
  • Black leather or black canvas closed shoes. Or black sandals without heels may be

allowed (on medical grounds.)

  •  Hair Locks (Juda) or hair should be tied with a black clip/band (only for short hair)
  • A cloth badge with green background with Fleur-de-lis in yellow superimposed by the Trefoil with Asoka Chakra also in yellow in the center shall be worn in the middle of the left sleeve.
  • A Shoulder Badge of 6 to 8 cm in length and 1.5 cm in Width with white background and red border, the serial number (optional), and the name of the group in red letters shall be worn on both shoulders immediately below the seam with a curve.
  • World Guide badge shall be worn in the middle of the right sleeve.
  • Cardigan / Blazer: When worn, it shall be black without any design. Sleeveless according to the season allowed.
  • The name Stripe, containing “The Bharat Scouts & Guides”, supplied by National Headquarters, may be worn above the right pocket on the blouse. The size of the stripe should be 11 cm x 2cm, the right corner of which should be the tricolor of the National Flag of the size of 3cm x 2cm and the rest for the Title “The Bharat Scouts & Guides”.
