MPSC State Services Selection Process
The MPSC state services selection process consists of three stages:
- Stage 1: Prelims exam
- Stage 2: Mains exam
- Stage 3: Interview
To be selected in any post, a candidate has to clear all three stages of the exam.
Prelims Exam
The prelims exam will be a written test. There will be two papers in this stage:
- Paper 1: General studies
- Paper 2: CSAT(Common State Aptitude Test)
The prelims exam will be held for 400 marks. Candidates have to qualify for a cut-off issued by the commission so that he/they can participate in the main exam.
Mains Exam
It will also be a written test consisting of six papers which are indicated below:
- Paper 1: Marathi & English
- Paper 2: Marathi & English
- Paper 3: History & geography
- Paper 4: Politics
- Paper 5: Human Resources Development & Human Rights
- Paper 6: Economy & Planning
Paper 1 & 2 will be qualifying papers while the rest of the 4 papers indicated will consist of 200 marks each and a total of 800 marks.
Interview
Candidates who are selected after the mains exam have to now appear on the interview which will be held for 100 marks.
According to the total marks scored by candidates in stages 2 & 3, a final cut-off will be released for the final selection. Then the selected candidates have to go through a document verification process in which all their related documents will be checked and verified.
MPSC Rajyaseva Eligibility Criteria
Before applying the application Process candidates should have to make sure that they are eligible as per the criteria given below :
Nationality
The applicant must be either –
- Citizen of India or,
- A subject of Nepal, Bhutan or
- A Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 intending to permanently settle in India or,
- Migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam to permanently settle in India.
Age limit
The minimum age of the candidate applying for this exam should be 19 years and the maximum age limit has been provided below in the table.

- Candidates must have obtained a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent from any recognized and registered university in India.
- Candidates in the final year of graduation are also eligible.

Interview Syllabus
Candidates qualifying for the mains examination will be called for the Interview round In Which they are interviewed by a Board appointed by MPSC. The Purpose of the interview is to examine the personal suitability, mental quality & analytical ability of each candidate. Therefore Candidates are advised to be aware of current events happening in the country and state.
