NTA PM Yashasvi Scholarship Eligibility 2022 – NTA PM Yashasvi Scholarship Scheme Components

To understand the NTA PM Yashasvi Scholarship Eligibility conditions one must first understand the NTA PM Yashasvi Scholarship Scheme.

The government formulated various schemes formulated such as the Pre-Matric Scholarship for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) Students and Post-Matric Scholarship for Other Backward Classes (OBCs) in the year 1998-99. To enhance the quality of education for the Economically Backward Class (EBC), and Semi-Nomadic Tribes De-notified Tribe (DNT), schemes focusing on education empowerment were launched in the year 2014-15. All these schemes are operational since their inception but needed amendment.

However, the functioning of these schemes was not able to achieve its goals. Hence, the Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment formed one scheme which covered five schemes under its umbrella that is “PM Young Achievers Scholarship Award Scheme for Vibrant India for OBCs and others (PM –Yasasvi)” for OBC, EBC, and DNT students. The scheme covers the following five under its functioning and all these five schemes have different Scholarship Eligibility criteria. 

  1. Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC, EBC, and DNT Students
  2. Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC, EBC, and DNT Students
  3. Top Class School Education for OBC, EBC, and DNT Students
  4. Top Class College Education for OBC, EBC, and DNT Students
  5. Construction of Hostel for OBC Boys and Girls

NTA PM Yashasvi Scholarship – Conditions for Eligibility

The NTA PM Yashasvi Scholarship Eligibility 2022 is the requirement that one needs to fulfill for the registration. The Scholarship Eligibility is different for all the five schemes that are provided under the same. It is a requirement and step that everyone must complete to avail the benefit of the Scholarship. Given below are the NTA PM Yashasvi Scholarship Eligibility criteria.

1. NTA PM Yasasvi Pre-Matric Scholarship for OBC, EBC, and DNT Students

2. NTA PM Yasasvi Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC, EBC, and DNT Students

The second scheme under the NTA PM Yashasvi Scholarship is Post-Matric Scholarship for OBC, EBC, and DNT Students. The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to the OBC, EBC, and DNT students studying in the post-matriculation or post-secondary stages to enable them to complete their education. The Scholarship Eligibility requirements for this are as follows.

3. NTA PM Yasasvi Top Class School Education for OBC, EBC, and DNT Students

This scholarship aims to cover the financial cost of education of the meritorious students belonging to the OBC, EBC, and DNT from Class 9 onwards till they complete Class 12. The following are the scholarship Eligibility requirements for the Top Class School Education for OBC, EBC, and DNT Students. 

4. NTA PM Yasasvi Top Class College Education for OBC, EBC, and DNT Students

The Top Class College Education for OBC, EBC, and DNT Students scheme covers the financial assistance to the students pursuing studies beyond class 12th. Below mentioned are the Eligibility requirements. 

5. Construction of Hostels for OBC Boys and Girls

This scheme aims to provide the hostel facilities for students belonging to the socially and educationally backward classes especially from rural areas, so that they can pursue secondary and higher education. The Eligibility requirements are as follows.

  1. De-notified Tribes (DNT ) students.
  2. Scheduled Tribes (ST) Students.
  3. Scheduled Caste (SC) Students.
  4. Economically Weaker Section (EWS) Students.
