Exams are held to select competent candidates for various positions within the Odisha Police Department. The test to become an Odisha Police Constable is one among them. There are presently 4790 available Constable vacancies across the Department, according to a recent announcement from the Odisha Police. Qualified candidates may submit an online application at @odishapolice.gov.in, the organization’s official website. The online application link will be active starting December 30, 2022, and candidates may submit their applications.
The Odisha Police Constable Selection Process includes a written exam (CBRE), measurement of physical standards, and physical efficiency test for constables (PET) recruitment. Odisha Police Constable Civil Selection Process
Odisha Police Constable Recruitment Notification 2022 is out. To get selected for the post, the candidates have to go through the following process:
- Writing Test
- Physically Consistent Measurements
- Test of Physical Efficiency
- Driving Test (Optional)
There will be a computer-based written exam which will carry 100 marks. Following that, a physical efficiency test and physical standard measurement will be performed. Passing each level is necessary to advance in the hiring process.
Following the recruitment test, a short list of the successful applicants will be created, organized by category and in order of merit for each District / Establishment separately, as stated in the advertisement. The Selection list will be created in decreasing order of the combined scores they received in the written test, driving test, and NCC, which will equal the number of advertised openings. The people on the Selection list who receive higher aggregate marks will be listed higher.
Some rules for the Selection list are as follows:
- If two or more candidates receive identical total marks, the older candidate will be placed first on the Selection List.
- If the date of birth is also the same, then the person with fewer negative marks on the written test will be placed above the others in the Selection List.
- If the negative marks on the written test are the same, the Board may decide on any other criteria.
- There shall be no reserve or waiting list.

- The written test will include questions in the following subject areas: Odia, English, Arithmetic, General Knowledge, Situational Awareness, Logical Reasoning, and Basic Computer Knowledge. The questions must be of a caliber that a student who has passed the +2 Exam can successfully respond to it. A written exam will have a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each incorrect answer.
- All written examination questions must be in English unless they are in the Odia language.
- Candidates who fail to show up for the written exam will be disqualified.
- Following the recruitment rules, the State Selection Board will determine the minimum passing score for the written exam.

- The distance between the chest’s expanded and unexpanded measurements must be at least 5 cm.
- The following Group “D” personnel may participate in the Constable recruitment test with a relaxation of the physical requirements: 3 cm in height, 5 kg in weight, and 2 cm in the chest (Unexpanded-expanded).
- The Group “D” employees will benefit from this exemption concerning the physical requirements set forth for their respective categories (UR, SEBC, SC, ST).

Those candidates who qualified in the Physical Standard shall be allowed to participate in the Physical Efficiency Test.

- A candidate will be eliminated from the hiring process if they do not meet the requirements for any of the events above.
- On the day before the Physical Standards Measurement and Physical Efficiency Test is completed, any complaint or grievance should be brought to the Chairman of the Board of the concerned district immediately. The Chairman’s decision in this matter is final and binding.
- Candidates must enter the Physical Efficiency Test on their responsibility. The Board is not liable for any loss or physical harm incurred by candidates during the Physical Efficiency Test or at any time afterward due to their participation in the test.
Driving Test (Optional)
Only those applicants who claim in their applications to be skilled drivers and who have held a valid Light or Heavy Vehicle Driving license for at least six months (excluding the learning period) as of the date of the vacancy announcement and who have passed the Written Examination, Physically Consistent Measurements Test and Test for Physical Efficiency will be invited to take the Driving Test.
Candidates who pass the test and have a valid light vehicle license will receive three points. In contrast, candidates who pass the test and have a valid license to operate a heavy vehicle will receive five points. The applicants who took the test and received a passing grade are regarded to have agreed to drive a light or heavy vehicle, depending on the situation, as part of their regular tasks and responsibilities, should they be called. Candidates must present a current, original driver’s license that matches the information on the application form.
