Punjab State Teacher Eligibility Test 2023: Eligibility Criteria

One of the most important PSTET Eligibility Requirements for applying to the exam is the level of education. The level of schooling needed to sit for the PSTET Test in 2023 varies depending on the position for which candidates are applying.

Educational Qualifications

Paper I Eligibility or Class I-V Eligibility Criteria

  • Passed or scheduled to take the last year of the 2-year Elementary Education Diploma with a minimum of 50% of the possible points in Senior Secondary.

  • In line with the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Process), Regulations, 2002, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and passed or appearing in the last year of a 2-year Diploma in Primary Education.

  • A 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education degree with at least a 50% grade point average in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) and passing or upcoming exams (B.El.Ed).

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% of the required grades and passed or scheduled to take the final year of the two-year education diploma (Special Education).

  • Graduation, passing the last year of the two-year Elementary Education Diploma programme, or appearing in it.

Paper II Eligibility or Class VI-VIII Eligibility Criteria

  • Graduation, passing the last year of the 2-year Elementary Education Diploma programme, or appearing in it.

  • Passing or enrolling in a one-year Bachelor of Education programme after graduating with at least 50% of the required grades (B.Ed).

  • Graduation with a minimum GPA of 45% and successful completion of or enrollment in a 1-year Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) programme, as per the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Process) Regulations that are periodically released in this regard.

  • Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% of the possible points, passing or enrolling in the last year of a four-year bachelor’s degree programme in elementary education (B.El.Ed).

  • 50% or above in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) and passing or enrolling in the last year of a four-year B.A./B.Sc.Ed. or B.A. Ed/B.Sc.Ed.

  • Graduating with at least a 50% grade point average, passing, or enrolling in a 1-year B.Ed.
