Eligibility Criteria of SAIL Management Trainee through GATE
SAIL is recruiting Engineering graduates based on the GATE 2022 score for the Management Trainee post. The candidates should be well-versed with the eligibility criteria before applying online. The detailed eligibility criteria for SAIL MT recruitment 2022 are discussed below.
Educational Qualification
The minimum qualification required for SAIL through GATE Recruitment of Management Trainee is that candidates must have BE/B. Tech degree in the relevant discipline with a minimum of 60% marks from any recognized Institute/University. These relevant engineering disciplines are Mechanical, Metallurgy, Electrical, Chemical, Civil, Instrumentation and Mining.
Candidates must also have a valid GATE 2022 score in the respective discipline.
Relaxation in Qualification
The SC/ST/PWD and Departmental Candidates having an Engineering Degree in the required disciplines with 55% marks (average of all semesters) shall be eligible to apply.

Medical Standards
Candidates should be of sound physique, free from any physical defect. Medical standards stipulate minimum requirements of:
- Weight – 45 kg
- Height – 155 cm
- Myopia and Hypermetropia (if any, not exceed positive and negative of 4.00) in each eye
- No squint or colour blindness, partial or full
- In case of a person with a disability, only orthopedically disabled candidates with OA or OL disability with a minimum 40% disability can apply.
