Sub Inspector Selection Process in Tamilnadu 2023
The TNUSRB SI Notification 2023 for the job of Sub Inspector in the Tamil Nadu Police Department has been released, according to official sources. Candidates who are eligible and interested can view the details here. The TNUSRB SI Recruitment Selection Procedure will be carried out in four stages, as detailed below.

- Written Examinations
The written examination is the first stage of the selection process. This is also separated into two parts.
Part 1: Tamil Language Eligibility Test
The Tamil Language Eligibility Test is only for qualifying purposes. The objective test will consist of 100 questions for 100 marks, with a time limit of 100 minutes (1 hour 40 minutes).
- The rules for administering the Tamil Language Eligibility Test to Departmental candidates shall be the same as for Open candidates.
- To be qualified for evaluation of their main examination OMR answer sheet, the candidate must acquire a minimum of 40 marks (40%) in the Tamil Language Eligibility test.
- At any time, the marks achieved in the Tamil Language Eligibility Test will not be considered in preparing the provisional selection list.
Part 2: Main Written Examination
The Main Written Examination is divided into Part A, General Knowledge, and Part B, Logical Analysis, Numerical Analysis, Psychology Test, Communication Skills, and Information Handling Ability. The written test will have a maximum score of 70 and last 150 minutes (2 hours and 30 minutes).
- For candidates under the open quota and those under the departmental quota, the rules will be different.
- Part A is worth 40 marks and has 80 questions of the objective kind.
- 60 questions of an objective nature make up Part B, which is worth 30 marks.
- To be eligible for the written exam, students must receive a minimum of 25 points (or 35%).
Certificate Verification (CV)
In the second phase of the TNUSRB SI recruitment process for 2023, candidates will be contacted for document verification after passing Part 1 of the test with the requisite minimum score and passing Part 2 of the exam with the necessary score to make the cut-off. On the specified date and time at the designated location, the board’s designated authority will check the relevant originals and photocopies of the documents. next, candidates will go through the steps that are detailed in the next sections of this article. The essential paperwork that will be needed for certificate verification is listed below.
- The candidates will have to produce the following certificates before they are confirmed for the post:
- If the candidate has changed their name after passing 10th, then the first page of a government gazette with the name mentioned in it must be uploaded. If not uploaded, the application will be rejected.
- Date of Birth proof (SSLC marks sheet)
- Bachelor’s Degree certificate
- Educational Qualification for adequate knowledge in Tamil
- Community Certificate by Tamil Nadu Government
- Destitute Widow Certificate from the officials
- Ex-Serviceman Discharge Certificate
- Self undertaking certificate of serving Armed Personal obtained from the Commanding Officer.
- NCC Certificate
- NSS Certificate
- Sports/Games Certificate
- Sports Quota Certificate
- Certificate for receiving medals in National Police Duty Meet, i.e. Gold/ Silver / Bronze.
- Scout Certificate obtained from his excellency, the President of India
- NOC for the departmental quota candidates
- NOC from the competent authority for all other Government servants
- Certificate for having Studied the Bachelor’s Degree in Tamil Medium
- Identity Card that is issued by Tamil Nadu Transgender Welfare Board.
Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Endurance Test (ET)
These are the next two tests in Stage 2 after certificate verification. Only the Physical Measurement Test (PMT) and Endurance Test (ET) are open to candidates who are able to demonstrate their eligibility to the commission by presenting their appropriate certifications. - Physical Measurement Test (PMT)
Additionally, candidates will take the Physical Measurement Test in the second round. Only candidates for open quotas are eligible for PMT. Candidates meeting the departmental quota are exempt from taking the PMT. Additionally, open quota candidate PMT standards are included in the following table. - Endurance Test (ET)
Again, the Endurance Test is qualifying in nature for both open and departmental quota candidates. Only the candidates who qualify in the ET will be allowed to participate in the Physical Efficiency Test (PET). The norms for open and departmental candidates for the Endurance Test are as follows:-

- A qualifying test is the endurance test.
- Only those applicants will be permitted to take part in the Physical Efficiency Test if they pass the Endurance Test.
- Men candidates run the 1500 meters in 7 minutes, while women candidates run the 400 meters in 2 minutes and 30 seconds.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET)
The Physical Efficiency Test (PET) is the following phase of the TNUSRB SI 2023 selection process. For applicants who qualify under the open quota, this test carries a maximum of 15 marks. Special Marks
The TNUSRB SI 2023 recruitment procedure has four stages, and this one is the fourth. Before publishing the tentative cut-off list of the selected applicants, special marks are provided to candidates who have NCC, NSS, or any other sports/games certificates. These special marks will be added to their overall marks in stages 1, 2, and 3 of the recruiting process. Below are the special marks for various certificate holders:-

The applicant must have earned a bachelor’s degree from a government-approved institution in any stream. The allowed patterns are 10+2+3/4/5 or 10+3+2/3.
