TNUSRB SI Exam Pattern 2023

The TNUSRB SI test pattern must be followed by applicants who are keen to be chosen for the position of Sub Inspector. Three steps of selection are involved in this exam: a written test, a physical measurement and endurance test, a physical efficiency test, and a viva-voce. On the board’s official website, candidates can access the TNUSRB SI test pattern. Both candidates who meet the open quota and those who meet the departmental quota have separate exam schedules. Negative marking is not, however, an option in the exam.

The following table contains the exam format for the written test for both groups of applicants. 

Open Quota Candidate

Part 1: The applicants’ general knowledge is the focus of the paper’s first section. Part 1 of the exam contains 80 questions in total and carries 40 marks. As a result, each question is worth half a mark.

section 2: The second section has a longer syllabus and a total of 60 questions that are worth half a mark. Therefore, there are 30 marks in Part 2. Both segments contain just objective-type questions.

The paper takes 2:30 hours to finish. For consideration in the next phase of the selection process, candidates must receive at least 25 points.

  • There are objective question types in both sections.
  • Each right response will receive one-half of a mark.
  • 70 total exam points.
  • To be eligible for the written test, candidates need to receive 25 out of a possible 35 points.

Departmental Quota Candidate

Part 1: The first section of the paper is based on the applicants’ general knowledge. Part A contains a total of 30 questions, each worth 15 points. As a result, each question is worth half a point.

Part 2: The second section offers a broader syllabus with a total of 140 questions worth half a point each. Part B is worth 70 points. All of the questions in both sections are objective in nature.

The paper is 3 hours long in total. Candidates must receive at least 30 points to advance to the next phase of the selection process.

  • Both parts have objective types of questions.
  • Each correct answer will be awarded ½ mark.
  • Total exam for 85 marks.
  • The candidates should get 30 marks (35%) to qualify for the written examination.
