Kati Bihu Festival
Kongali, also known as Kati Bihu, is an honorable holiday celebrated in Assam with joy and gladness, and it is observed today, October 18, 2022.
The celebration is also called Kongali (Poor) to represent an empty granary and decreased food availability during that time of year.
Bihu is celebrated by lighting lights or saaki (candles) in various places of the house. The primary lamp is placed in the courtyard near the holy Tulsi plant.
People make tributes and offer prayers to Goddess Tulsi for the health of their families and a bountiful harvest. The entire month of Kati is spent doing this ceremony.
