There are ample benefits of Ex-Serviceman jobs in Bank. When determining the minimum length of service required for promotion from the subordinate cadre to the clerical cadre and from the clerical cadre to JMG Scale I, ex-servicemen who have been rehired by the bank may be given the benefit of their prior military service.

After they have completed at least three years of verified service in the bank, their time spent serving in defence will be weighted in the ratio of 5:1 with a maximum of two years. Only one time during their entire career may the benefit be restricted.

Regardless of whether the ex-servicemen choose to use the benefit/weightage of their military service for promotion or a permanent posting to a post carrying special allowance, all ex-servicemen who are re-employed by the bank are eligible for the post carrying special allowance and the benefit/weightage of their military service for these purposes. The benefit for officiating/stop gap arrangement would not be extended to such an ex-servicemen re-employed in the bank if they had previously taken advantage of the benefit/weightage of defence service for the purposes of promotion from one cadre to another cadre or for the purposes of permanent posting to the post carrying a special allowance. This benefit is to be extended to such employees only once during their employment with the bank.
