The Arjuna Award is one of the most prestigious awards given to Indian athletes. It is given by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. The award is named after Arjuna, a character from the Hindu epic Mahabharata. The Arjuna Award started in 1961, since then, it has been given to many famous Indian athletes, including Sachin Tendulkar, P T Usha, Vishwanathan Anand, and Mary Kom. 

The criteria for the award are that the athlete must have performed consistently well for four years at the international level, and must have shown dedication and commitment to their sport.

In Which Field Is The Arjuna Award Given?

The Arjuna Award is an award given by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports in India to recognize outstanding achievement in sports. It is the highest sporting honour in India. Arjuna Award Prize Money

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports presents the Arjuna Award each year to honor great performance in Indian sports. The Arjuna Award Prize Money/ Prize Money Of Arjuna Award is  Rs. 15,00,000, a bronze statuette of Arjuna, and a scroll of honor. The award was first given out in 1961. As of 2020, the award has been given to 521 athletes.
