The Gujarat University, which serves more than two lakh students spread among 235 colleges, 15 recognized institutes, and 24 approved institutions, is the biggest university in the state. There are 221 P.G. Centers and 34 departments at post-graduate universities.

Gujarat University is an affiliating university for undergraduate studies and a teaching university for graduate study. The system of external exams used by the Faculties of Arts and Commerce at both the undergraduate and graduate levels is a significant aspect of this university. The purpose of the introduction of the external tests was to help students who were working and others who couldn’t afford the high expense of a university education realize their dream. Gujarat University has grown remarkably over the past 67 years, becoming one of the top universities in the nation today. About two lakh students receive instruction there in one of the broadest ranges of specialties.

• Narendra Modi

Political figure Narendra Damodardas Modi has been India’s 14th and current prime minister since 2014. From 2001 to 2014, Modi served as Gujarat’s chief minister. He is a Varanasi-born member of parliament. He belongs to both the right-wing Hindu nationalist paramilitary volunteer Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).

• Amit Shah

Indian politician Amit Anil Chandra Shah is the country’s first Minister of Cooperation and the Minister of Home Affairs. From 2014 to 2020, he presided over the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Since 2014, he has also served as the National Democratic Alliance’s (NDA) chairman.

• Mallika Sarabhai

Actress, dancer, and activist Mallika Sarabhai hails from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. Mallika is an experienced Kuchipudi and Bharatanatyam dancer and performer who has specialized in using the arts for social development and transformation. She is the daughter of classical dancer Mrinalini Sarabhai and space scientist Vikram Sarabhai.

• Anjali Bansal

The creator of Avaana Capital, Anjali Bansal, invests in technology and innovation-driven start-ups that are accelerating climate action and sustainability while generating exponential returns. Among the profitable firms, she has financed are Nykaa, Delhivery, UrbanClap, Darwinbox, Coverstack, Farmart, and Lenskart.

• Hasmukh Adhia

Hasmukh Adhia, IAS, is a banker and government employee from India. He is a significant figure in the design and implementation of the Goods and Services Tax & Demonetization system, which was unveiled in 2016. He was the state’s revenue secretary and an Indian Administrative Service (IAS) officer from the Gujarat cadre batch of 1981.

• Ela Bhatt

Ela Ramesh Bhatt founded the Self-Employed Women’s Association of India (SEWA) in 1972 and held the position of general secretary for the organization from 1972 until 1996. She is an Indian cooperative organizer, activist, and supporter of Gandhi. She is the Gujarat Vidyapith’s current chancellor. Bhatt, a trained lawyer, is active in the global labor, cooperative, women’s, and microfinance movements and has received numerous national and international honors.
