Ramendra Nath Biswas is an Indian politician, Member of Legislative Assembly From Kalyani, Nadia in the Indian state of West Bengal.
- Sudip Chattopadhyay
He is the dean of research and consultancy at the National Institute of Technology, Durgapur, and a developmental biologist and biotechnologist from India. Chattopadhyay, who is recognized for his research on the molecular underpinnings of light-controlled plant growth and development, is a J. C. Bose National Fellow of the Science and Engineering Research Board (SERB) and a nominated fellow of all three of India’s major science academies: the Indian National Science Academy, Indian Academy of Sciences, and National Academy of Sciences, India. For his contributions to the biosciences in 2005, the Department of Biotechnology of the Government of India presented him with the National Bioscience Award for Career Development, one of the top Indian science prizes.

He received the Shanti Swarup Bhatnagar Prize for Science and Technology, one of the greatest Indian science awards, in 1989 for his contributions to the chemical sciences from the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research, the top organisation of the Government of India for scientific research.
