LBSNAA full form is Lal Bahadur Shastri National Academy of Administration, which is based in Mussoorie and is the leading institute for civil services in India. It is supervised by a Director (a Secretary-level officer of the Government of India) and is an associated department of the Department of Personnel & Training, Government of India. The Academy organizes a Common Foundation Course for entrants of All India Services, Indian Foreign Service, Union Group ‘A’ Services, and the Royal Bhutan Service, followed by specialized training for the regular members of the Indian Administrative Service (IAS) and the Royal Bhutan Service. Furthermore, it holds In-service and Mid-Career Training Programs (MCTPs) for IAS members. Foundation Course

Phase 1
Beginning with a 15-week program of instruction at LBSNAA the initial phase of training includes Bharat Darshan, an all-India tour for IAS officers. The academic agenda includes policy-making, land administration, interpersonal skills, project management, national security, e-government, etc. The day begins at 6 AM with exercise, lectures, and social activities in the evening.
Bharat Darshan
During phase 1 of the IAS probationers’ training, they are broken up into small groups and taken on a trip around India. This is part of their training program so they can experience India’s diverse culture and history.
District Training
This training program lasts for an entire year, during which officers gain an in-depth understanding of a district’s administrative structure by participating.
Phase 2
Phase 2 begins with the officers discussing their experiences from the Phase 1 training program with fellow learners. Discussions about various developmental problems and solutions are held during this time. Additionally, there are sessions conducted by experts as a learning experience.
