Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann launched the Lok Milni Scheme on 16th May 2022. This is a unique scheme which is a first-of-its-kind public interaction programme. This latest scheme by the newly elected Punjab Government aimed at providing a single-window platform to the people for redressal of their complaints. Today we will provide major details of the scheme as it is very important from an exam point of view.
What Happened During The Event?
- The Chief Minister of Punjab heard the grievances of the people and issued directions for their redressal during the event.
- People from different parts of Punjab came with several complaints like encroachment of panchayat land, land disputes, pending arrears of the Shagun scheme and others.
- These people are the ones who had submitted their complaints and grievances to the Bhagwant Mann Government in the last two months.
- Around 61 complainants listed their grievances before the Chief Minister during the Lok Milni Event.
- The Chief Minister, after listening to the grievances directed the top officers of the various departments present on the occasion to ensure the resolution of the same in a time-bound manner.
- The Chief Minister said he would be personally monitoring the status of these complaints every week, thus any sort of dereliction in this act will not be tolerated at any cost.
Highlights of the Chief Minister’s Speech
The Chief Minister of Punjab added that this scheme is aimed at ensuring that people do not have to run from pillar to post for getting their legal work done. While launching ‘Lok Milni’ at Punjab Bhawan, he was also quoted saying this.
“This is a humble step of my government to make sure that we facilitate resolution of long-pending administrative issues concerning people.” Mann said the top brass of his government would accompany him during this ‘Lok Milni’ to ensure that the matters flagged by people are immediately resolved on the spot, according to an official release.

Punjab Lok Milni Scheme FAQs
This interactive programme was launched with the aim of providing a platform to the people of the state for the redressal of their complaints.
The people of the state who had submitted their grievances and complaints with the state government in the last two months were called to attend this programme.
People across Punjab attended this meet and placed their complaints in front of the CM. The complaints were regarding panchayat land encroachment, pending Shagun scheme, land disputes, and more.
Along with the CM, the top government officials of the state were also present at this meeting. They attended the ‘Lok Milni’ programme so as to ensure that the complaints received were resolved immediately on the spot.
During this ‘Lok Milni’ programme, around 61 complainants listed their grievances before the CM. The top officers of the state were directed by him to ensure that the complaints are resolved at the earliest.
