Let’s Know a few facts about the 14th vice president of India

Jagdeep Dhankhar will be the 14th Vice President of India, succeeding M Venkaiah Naidu. He will take the oath of office on August 11.

Dhankhar was born on May 18, 1951, into an agrarian family in a remote village in Rajasthan's Jhunjhunu district.

He rose to prominence in Rajasthan as a prominent lawyer, appearing in both the Rajasthan High Court and the Supreme Court.

In addition, he was the president of the Rajasthan High Court Bar Association. In 1989, Jagdeep Dhankhar, a lawyer by profession, entered politics.

Dhankhar, who had previously worked with the Janata Dal and the Congress, only rejoined the BJP in 2008, after a nearly decade break.

In India's Vice Presidential election 2022, he defeated Opposition candidate Margaret Alva by 346 votes on Saturday.
