- He passed the MA test in Rochester, New York’s Mumbai Center of the American College of Sciences in 1903.
- When he was only 20 years old, he obtained a Master’s (MA) degree in six different subjects, including Sanskrit, English, history, philosophy, mathematics, and science.

- In July 1899, the Sanskrit Association of Madras bestowed upon him the title of “Saraswati” in recognition of his general command of the language and his oratory prowess.
- In 1902, he passed the B.A. examination with the highest possible mark.
- From 1911 through 1919, he practiced rigorous meditation, giving his entire being—body, mind, heart, and soul—to the causes of serving others, advancing spiritual awakening, and resurrecting Vedantic teachings.
- He was accepted into the revered Sannyasa order in Varanasi in 1919 under the new name Swami Bharati Krishna tirtha.
- In 1925, four years after being chosen as Sharada Peetha’s Shankaracharya, he achieved the highest religious title in India by becoming a Shankaracharya.
