Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), also known as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, is an Indian government agency responsible for managing India’s foreign relations. This ministry was originally the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Commonwealth Relations, a remnant of the British Indian Empire. In 1948, the name was changed to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
