Badminton is related to the Thomas Cup. Teams from Badminton World Federation members compete against one another in this event (BWF). Sir George Thomas gave the cup in 1939 for a number of men’s international team competitions. Malaya won the first competition, which took place in 1948–1949. Every two years, these tournaments are held. Twelve teams compete in the tournament’s final round at locations in the host country, and it is held at the same time as the Uber Cup, the final round of the global championships for women’s teams (first held in 1956-1957). The two events have been staged concurrently at the various play levels since 1984. This cup is also called the World Men’s Team Championship.
