Every year on September 16th, World Ozone Day is observed. The UN designates today as International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. We have created the World Ozone Day Quiz 2022 with pertinent questions and solutions in honor of this incredibly significant day. The high concentration of ozone found in the stratosphere, 15 to 30 kilometers above the surface of the earth, is referred to as the “ozone layer” in common parlance. This layer shields the earth from the sun’s harmful rays, preserving life on the planet. On this day, speeches and seminars are given all over the world to raise awareness among the public about the ozone layer’s deterioration and the steps that can be taken to protect it.
As we can see, the world’s biggest issue is the thinning of the ozone layer. The layer is continuously being depleted, thus the world works to protect it. The damaging UV radiation from the Sun causes cataracts, skin ageing, cancer, snow blindness, and other conditions that have a negative impact on human health.
World Ozone Day is observed all around the world in an effort to prevent the ozone layer from depleting and save human life from the harmful effects of UV rays. Numerous initiatives, campaigns, marches, seminars, etc. are held on this day to protect the ozone layer.
